Katame no Kata

Katame no kata Forms of Grappling or Holding

Katame no kata translated as forms o grappling and is one of the two randori no katas. This kata uniquely  illustrates various  concepts of of katame waza grappling techniques. Judo sensei uses his kata as an method for training and demonstration of understanding.This judo kata was developed at the Kodokan between 1884 and 1887 following the development of the Nage no Kata. Composed out of three groups of techniques each with five representative techniques.
